I just ran
mv /etc/security/limits.d/audio.conf.disabled audio.conf
and ran the usermod command again, so I am not sure if enabling realtime
will be responsible for this issue.

I initially was using jack1 and moved to jack2 to see if this would help
(I have a dual core), but the issue is the same in both.
I know that this configuration basically works, as Mike can confirm with
his Firepod in 14.04 is working, and my firebox is working in 12.04

I can enable the verbose output if that would be beneficial, or run
something from the terminal to get output there as well.

I really appreciate all your help in this issue!!
