Western Digital external drives

Re: WD drives..  Have been using them for years.. install them upside down
and have never had a problem..  Am running studio 13.04 on one now..
Installed yesterday, applied all 190 updates, played with it for awhile
during which a number of planned reboots were accomplished.
On starting this morning had the ELF problem.. ran it off the dvd and
installed boot-repair.. works fine but now have the 'how do i want to start
Ubuntu grub'  every time I boot... is there a way of ridding myself of this?
Have not been able to install 13.04 to a Seagate drive on a nVidia
motherboard.. but expected that...
