C Wilson: Many thanks for responding. The PC is an ASUSTEK p5gc-mx; cannot
tell you the audio tonight; but this is not a fresh install; rather it's an
8.04>9.04>9.10>10.04 LTS Kubuntu built up with Ubuntu Studio. I last had
sound with Karmic. Being in my elder years alone, I have not managed to
figure my way thru to dreamed of capabilities learned developers and testers
manage to fight & achieve. Yes, indeed would I like to do an app>sound> mute
or unmute and toogle till I heard a few notes as I truly want to produce
videos and hear YouTubes +. Saw your other note on the 2.6.35.17. I do not
follow what you said or how it relates to the 2.6.32?? which is running on
my PC.

Sorry am on my Acer Laptop and cannot get back to the email I posted. Will
be back on in about 9 hours. Ken
