Abogani's kernel ppa already is linked in kxstudio and 2.6.33-29-realtime works fine for me in lucid as well as in maverick :). Only problem: no working proprietary driver Nvidia 173.14.x -->  no 3d/split/dual screen. No problem on my notebook with intel graphics.
