sound

i disintalled e network-manager and intsalled again, but now  pc hasn't
sound, is not a card sound because under windows it work.
in ubuntu i have no sound from the begining to the to the end, from the
start up of the pc to the shutdown of pc, absolutly no sound.
whta's happen ?
