ahoy Chris,

i have a similar MacBook (13" 2.0 GHz Core Duo 2 GB RAM June 2006).
after i realized the importance of free software/culture/etc. and found
myself wanting to run Linux again, the problem was that a MacBook was my
computer. i can and am doing work on it (USB Hardy 8.04), however it
has been a struggle at points. not sure if this is due to Apple or
what, but i would recommend something else. i have spent lots of time
fighting things with this laptop, that others using more open/standard
computers have not seem to.

i can recommend heartily the Edirol FA-66 FireWire audio interface.
worked great with Mac OS 10.4/Logic, and with FLOSS audio software.

peace, w
