jaunty upgrade

Hello!

I would like to make the upgrade from ubstudio intrepid to ubstudio jaunty
to try this tool and because I will do the complete reinstall of the os with
karmik.
My questions are:
-do I need back up my files in home?
-does the programs in my menu will be changed/sostituted/deleted?
-in the package will be installed i didn't see anything with the name
ubuntustudio is it right?

it's the first time that I'm trying to use this tool as you will note...
