Well, if limit yourself to a laptop and USB/Firewire interface, then you
are limiting yourself.

If you are further constraining yourself with the limitations of an Asus
EeePC, well you can hardly complain.  I actually have an EeePC, and even
with a gig of RAM, I do not use it for very much as the CPU is not very
fast.  Asking it to be a synth is kind of silly.

For me, I have a 4400+ X2 (939) with an RME 9652 card.  Audio production
under Linux is a dream for me.  Of course YMMV.
