What jackd-settings do you have?

hint: try 3periods/buffer instead of 2

Try CTRL+Mousewheel.
If you try to find a drawable waveform, switch to cursor mode
"gaincurves" (press G). You can then draw a line with nodes for
gain-automation.

Try SHIFT+Mousewheel and point the cursor to the track you want to zoom...
