Ubuntu Studio Users,
I am having difficulty getting my system properly configured with JACK and Ardour so that I can record and play back from Ardour using my Fast Track Pro (FTP). The FTP is set as the default card and plays system sounds on booting, and I can also play audio from the internet (e.g. you tube).
Through trial and error, I have been able to record audio through the FTP, and I have been able to play back recorded audio through the FTP. However, I don't seem to be able to find settings that allow me to do both, i.e., record audio input and then turn around and play it back whithout changing any settings. Can anyone point me to links that give a detailed description of setting up the FTP with Jack and Ardour, including which connections need to exist in JACK and Ardour? I have found a number of discussions online that talk about successfully using the FTP, but no detailed discussion of how it was done (sometimes because for the poster it apparently just worked out of the box).
I have successfully used the FTP in Windows (XP and Vista) with an inexpensive DAW called Mixcraft and with Ableton Live. I am trying to move to Ubuntu Studio with only partial success. Any links or discussion here would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dan
