I wish I had not screwed with it.  I did have more audio working in Feisty than I do in Gutsy.  No MIDI control in either, though.

Sounds like you're really struggling with life right now and my computer problems are trivial by comparison.  I hope you can find a way to provide for your needs in a more enjoyable way.
