terratec sound card question

i am planning to buy an external sound card from my laptop, an IBM X32. 
I am not sure if i should go for a USB 2 or Firewire, my laptop has 
both. In the past I had an Maudio FW410 and it never worked under linux.

I am considering this terratec, the X24 FW, and i was wondering if 
anyone has been using it under linux and if so which is your opinion 
about it.
