Beryl in Ubuntu Studio

I think I found the reason for Beryl and Compiz not working.
Unfortunately I do still not know why. Please bear in mind that I am
still a novice. I found that the screensavers on studio also are very
sluggish. They are using 100% of the CPU.
I am dual booting with XP on the drive with Ubuntu Studio.
I have no problems with screensavers or Compiz on my second hard drive
with Ubuntu. Screensavers only use between 60% to 80% of CPU max.
I am a bit confused here. Is it hard drive related?
Thanx again
Jock
