Yep, that is what I was saying. Pardon me, if my judgement was first too
hard.

I have two computers at home.

First one is AMD Duron 800Mhz with 384M. I run Ubuntu 7.04 on that
machine. I can surf, read my email (right now) and even start
OpenOffice. But that's all. I'm not try to start Ardourd2, Rosegarden or
Cinelerra. My little girl can't play any great Linux 3D-games like
SuperTux or TuxRacer because video card is Matrox G450. Great for 2D,
but nothing more.

My second computer is laptop, Intel M-processor (no dual-core) with 1 G
memory. I run Ubuntu Studio on that machine. And all is working very
well - my little girl can play SuperTux and TuxRacer. We are both happy.
I can use Cinelerra or Kino on that machine. Here are videos that I have
made about using midi keyboard and Rosegarden at school (part 5 and 6),
all these videos are made with that laptop with Ubuntu Studio.

On my work we use LTSP, server is nothing more than P4 with 1 G mem. And
there is 10 thin clients for that one server. Thin clients are old
one's, HP Vectra (P3 with 128M). And we use Firefox, Kmail and OpenOffice.

Ubuntu Studio is free as speech.
But your hardware is not, you have to buy your beer.

Cheers Asmo Koskinen.
