Regarding Firewire audio devices and Linux this is the site to visit:

The reason why the FW410 is not supported is because this device is not
based on the standard BeBoB Firewire firmware and M-Audio won't provide with
the specs to program a Linux driver. Unless someone reverse engineer the
device (which looks like is not easy thing) or M-Audio changes their policy
there will be no Linux support for this.
