Next time, I won't be lead, and perhaps not even greatly involved<br>
anymore. But, I would still like to go there, on behalf of Ubuntu<br>
Studio.<br>
<br>
It would actually be important for us to present ourselves, and what we<br>
do. Especially if we can get the next LTS to be a really great distro.<br>
That would silence a lot of critical voices and make it easier for us to<br>
get people involved.<br>

It's always the issue with funding and time and travel though.</div><div><br></div><div>A physical meetup is hard due to the global spread. I mean, I think Set and I are both in Stockholm Sweden and even we haven't met in person. I was trying to meet some of the finnish contributors to Xubuntu and Ubuntu Studio when I went to Helsinki for work, but the time was pressed and it didn't happen. </div><div><br></div><div>I've attended some of the Ubuntu conference on Google Hangout but the times are usually when I'm at work so a bit hard to make happen. I managed to attend the Internet Days in Stockholm a few years ago when Jono Bacon was keynoting. We had a good chat and a couple of beers....and then he left Canonical. Not related to meeting me. I think.</div><div><br></div><div>Anyhow, as I have followed the discussions lately on IRC and email list there is different views on meetings. It might be handy to run a couple of meetings online, then again if noone shows up or if it only results in 2 people getting 123 new tasks to do it might prove not to be a great format for us.</div></div></div></div>
