a few users aren't aware about the possible drawbacks when using this<br>

Ralf<br></blockquote><div><br></div><div>who is confused about what? the pulse to jack dbus is actually something that is in answer to user's requests. personally, its the first thing i disable, since, i am not interested in pulse audio running when i am running jack. i tick the tick box in the misc tab in qjackctl before i even run jack for the first time. but, there are many other users who use applications that do not have jack by default. if you need the pulse to jack dbus, you need it.. and its there by default in ubuntustuduio to give users access to typical desktop applications in jack. it *does* add overhead and latency, and there are drawbacks.. but, if the user wants pulse support in jack, this is a nice way to get it.. </div><div><br></div><div>as for "professional" work scenarios.. if a user is "working", and wants to use pulse.. then, that *is* a professional scenario where pulse is being used. i dont want/need pulse running in my professional situation, and dont use it.. but many want it, and are welcome to use this great addition to ubuntustudio and linux audio.</div><div><br></div><div>ralph, would you prefer a wiki page that states the *actual* facts about the "drawbacks" or overhead of running the dbus? are you trying to get it set by default that the dbus is not on?</div><div> </div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex">
