Hi Len, This is my first reply in the ubuntu devel mailing list. As far as I can see, you can have extension or replication of existing X display not matter xfce,gnome or kde. The workspace alignment to display is coupled to the window manager if I'm right. It seems some of it is there but not all. I installed wicd and wicd-gtk to get it working. The problem is that sometimes the wireless link goes south and doesn't reset automatically.
