Greetings, Samuel </blockquote><div> The problem is a bureaucratic one at this stage, because Jack is in the Universe repositories of Ubuntu, applications in the Main repositories (Pulse Audio for example) can't be built against it so Pulse Audio isn't compiled with Jack support in the repositories. The Ubuntu Studio team is actively working to get Jack into Main right now as a fix for this, but it's not there yet (we're on our way though). For now, I have seen some posts on <a href="http://ubuntuforums.org">ubuntuforums.org</a> regarding PPA repositories that include Pulse Audio built with jack support.
