Hi Thomas,

Sorry I'm so late to get back. I'd appreciate the work on the Plymouth theme. 
It's long overdue for a refresh in my opinion.

As far as the black overlay, that's not a bug, but a "feature" of grub so that 
it can display its own console prior to loading the initrd. Annoying, but it's 
something that happens any time there's a graphical grub theme. I looked into 
it, and I couldn't find any way to prevent it. openSUSE has a similar 
graphical boot menu grub theme, and it does the exact same thing, except it 
displays something along the lines of "Loading..." which is something that 
would have to be written into the main grub script. But, it's there for such a 
short amount of time that I don't think we need to worry about it. Ubuntu MATE 
does the same thing (from where our theme was forked).

Anyhow, great to hear that you tested it. I'll ping someone for sponsorship to 
get this bad boy into Universe.
