[ubuntu-studio-devel] Ubuntu Studio For Musicians

For the record, I almost did not include anything about installing Ubuntu
in the handbook for the reasons Erich gives. My first solution would be to
remove the whole section and just point elsewhere for installation.
I have not run into those problems installing because I've not tried it
on more recent machines. Maybe just a couple of sentences stressing that
"YMMV" and specifically pointing out the UEFI issue on later hardware would
work, but the existing online documentation and forum pages are quite good
for getting Ubuntu Studio up and running. If left in place, the quick
overview could use a link to the better online instructions. I guess I felt
if it were a standalone book, there was no way around at least including
some inkling of how to get started rather than opening with the assumption
that it's already installed.
Thanks for reading it and for the suggestion. It occurs to me that once
this is in the wiki, it would be apparent where to add/edit any particular
aspect. I tried exporting XHTML from LibreOffice Writer and that didn't
work out too well. There are a lot of embedded images. I may need to
copy-paste all 60 pages into a HTML editor to get it formatted so people
can have at it. That could take a while - in the mean time, do let me know
if it's just duplicating some other existing document(s), not all that
useful, too shallow, etc. A true manual might be hundreds of pages in
length, but maybe the fact that it's a bit short-and-sweet is a good
thing? Enough to get going without being overwhelmed was the goal.
