Hi All,
On Thursday 24th March the 2nd Beta (Final Beta) of Ubuntu Studio (and
other Ubuntu flavours) will be released. So please help by occasionally
testing an ISO image from today and especially on the 25th.
The more testing, the more bugs we can identify and try to fix before
the Ubuntu Studio Xenial 16.04 release on 21st April.
*Short instructions on how to test:*
1. Get a launchpad account, if you haven't, at http://launchpad.net
2. Head to http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com, and login
3. Go to http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/milestones/358/builds/ and
follow the links for Ubuntu Studio to download the ISO, and to go to the
test cases.
4. Make sure your to do a checksum on your ISO before you report bugs.
5. If you find bugs, check at the bottom of the test case page if the
bug was already reported, then make sure to include it in your test
results. If no one had reported the bug, in a terminal, do: ubuntu-bug
<packagename>
6. Even if all tests are completed, but the build is not yet marked
*ready*, you may still help testing and submitting bug reports.
*Long instructions:*
For those new to ISO testing, please refer to:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuStudio/Testing/ISOTesting
For even more extensive information, please check out:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/ISO
There may be a need to re-spin a new ISO image during the process. Using
zsync can speed up getting the latest image.
If you need help at any stage, you should find someone on IRC
(#ubuntustudio or #ubuntustudio-devel) who can help, or you can ask here.
Regards,
Ross
