If the audacious .desktop file is the culprit this should be changeable by editing
that file. Other options would include finding a way to conceal the existance of
Audacious on the system from Firefox, as well as ensuring that the system default
applications for various mimetypes do not include Audacious for anything other
than audio.
I have never had or seen this problem in Firefox, so obviously Firefox and Audacious
can co-exist. Check the default applications first, then look at that .desktop file.
