Audio no longer feasible with vanilla Ubuntu + Studio packages (?)

Hi Brian,

Yes I tried disabling NetworkManager (by unchecking nm in the Startup 
options, completely disabling it at logon)
I also tried disabling compiz, it didn't help.

Anything else I should try? Thanks!
