X11r7.6?

Hello:

Since a recent version of X11 has recently been released, what are the
chances of seeing it in upcoming versions of Ubuntu?
I experienced a work-stopping bug in X11 on 10.04-10.10 (similarly in
RHEL6 by the way)

and I'd like to be able to use X again in the next edition.

Any tips for running a home-compiled version of X11 instead of the one
that ships with Ubuntu would be useful too... that way I could
pre-test X11r7.6 and see if the bug is fixed there.
