I'm running Vision Tek Radeon 1050 aftermarket video card, not onboard Intel or AMD, so I'm not sure about the
hypotheses offered.  Please, keep me informed as to your discovery.  I am definitely not running the i845 Intel chipset.

There has been a major code rewrite, could anyone please pull lp
