Hello Heinrich, or anyone else affected,
Accepted u-boot-pic64gx into noble-proposed. The package will build now
and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/u-boot-
pic64gx/2024.06-0ubuntu1~24.04.1 in a few hours, and then in the
-proposed repository.
Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.
If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, what testing has been
performed on the package and change the tag from verification-needed-
noble to verification-done-noble. If it does not fix the bug for you,
please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-
failed-noble. In either case, without details of your testing we will
not be able to proceed.
Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance for helping!
N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.

Title:
[SRU] Copy u-boot-pic64gx to Noble
Status in u-boot-pic64gx package in Ubuntu:
New
Status in u-boot-pic64gx source package in Noble:
Fix Committed
Bug description:
[ Impact ]
* We want to publish a 24.04.1 preinstalled image for the Microchip PIC64GX Curiosity Kit.
We need U-Boot to boot the board.
* As upstreaming U-Boot has not been started yet we have created a package with the vendor U-Boot.
This package will be superseded by u-boot-microchip once upstreaming is done.
[ Test Plan ]
* Copy a pre-installed Ubuntu image onto an SD-card and boot the
board.
* Install the package.
* A message like the following is expected which confirms that U-Boot
has actually been copied to the SD-card:
Setting up u-boot-pic64gx (2024.06-0ubuntu1) ...
1478+1 records in
1478+1 records out
756824 bytes (757 kB, 739 KiB) copied, 0.244173 s, 3.1 MB/s
* Power cycle the board and check that the login prompt is reached.
* Login and issue the 'reboot' command. Check that the board reboots.
[ Where problems could occur ]
* u-boot-pic64gx is a new package.
* Booting might fail on the target device.
