Yes. The script already includes EOL releases so I'm updating the list. We cannot use `distro-info` because it won't list any Debian releases.

As above. The current script already contains EOL releases.

The whole package is a maintenance nightmare. I'm waiting for approval on Debian's Salsa server to add more patches (one has already been committed but I needed someone else to do that for me).
Ideally there would be some way for the script to say, "Oh, this is an old release or Ubuntu|Debian, use...". But then there's the removed keys – perhaps that could just be ignored and leave it up to the user to figure out (using --keyring=).

The idea is to make old releases available for building (Wine, for example) and testing (multiple regressions throughout Launchpad). This is something I do regularly when reporting bugs to both Ubuntu and Debian.
There are a myriad of bugs that cannot be confirmed and/or confirm-fixed unless you can access the old releases. Installing a bunch of VMs are the other option, which is just a waste of resources. I've personally confirmed and/or confirm-fixed a load of bugs on Launchpad this week alone (alongside a few Debian bugs).
