AttributeError: module 'configparser' has no attribute 'SafeConfigParser'. Did you mean: 'RawConfigParser'?

Ever since Python 3.2, configparser.SafeConfigParser has been deprecated in
favor of configparser.ConfigParser. An alias existed for backward compatibility
but the alias was dropped from Python 3.12

The project upstream seems pretty dead (last change is 4 years old)
but if we can make the package build against Python 3.12 with a simple
change, I think that's worth our time.
