Hello Dave, or anyone else affected,

Accepted u-boot into groovy-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/u-boot/2020.10+dfsg-
1ubuntu0~20.10 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, what testing has been
performed on the package and change the tag from verification-needed-
groovy to verification-done-groovy. If it does not fix the bug for you,
please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-
failed-groovy. In either case, without details of your testing we will
not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.

** Description changed:

  [Impact]

Version 2019.10 (which is post-focal) includes a fix for LP: #1900693
which is critical for Core 18, and important for anyone relying on the
"saveenv" function in u-boot. Version 2020.04 (also post-focal),
introduced support for the Pi 4 ethernet controller. The intention is to
SRU the hirsute version (2020.10) to bionic, focal, and groovy.

  [Test Case]

  * On a fresh copy of Ubuntu Bionic, Focal, and Groovy:
- * sudo add-apt-repository ppa:waveform/uboot
+ * Enable -proposed and do `apt update`
+ * Update u-boot packages
  * sudo reboot
  * Ensure the OS boots successfully

  [Regression Potential]

Provided the new version successfully boots on all intended targets,
minimal since the bootloader plays no role at runtime beyond getting the
Linux kernel running. However, given this potentially affects many
platforms (not just the Pi), it should be given a boot test on all
  platforms we support via U-Boot.

  [Original Description]

Please merge u-boot 2020.10+dfsg-1 from Debian unstable.

Updated changelog and diff against Debian unstable is attached below.
