Status in mosquitto package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  One of the recent security patches for the 1.4.x series of Mosquitto
  contained a mistake that can cause an attempted read from incorrect
  memory, if a user has persistent data being saved to disk.

  The attached patches fix the problem.
