  NOTE: This bug was turned into a Feature Freeze Exception Request to
  get brlaser 4 into Bionic, see comment #8 and following.

  There is a new upstream version of brlaser releases:

  https://github.com/pdewacht/brlaser/releases/tag/v4

  As it is not in the list of packages which I can upload to Main. I
  need sponsoring.
