Confirming that I stumbled into this collapsing menu bug after updating
a machine from 14.04 to 16.04 yesterday.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wHurBpUTkU I made a video of the menu
gracefully vanishing forever. It happens on every refresh on multiple
machines.

When (or is) this fix likely to make it to the LTS line?

Title:
menu displays briefly and then disappears

  Fix Released

Bug description:
  [Impact]

   * The icinga menu displays briefly and then disappears.

   * The Debian and Ubuntu packages use the system-installed versions of
jQuery rather than the embedded-in-source version upstream tests
against. Upstream had not yet tested against the version of jQuery in
16.04/16.10 and so this went unnoticed. Upstream has fixed their
compatibility with newer jQuery and this backports the same fix.

  [Test Case]

   * Install icinga and after configuration, navigate to
http://<ip>/icingaweb. The left-hand menu will display briefly and
  then disappear.

   * A fixed version will maintain the menu's presence.

  [Regression Potential]

   * Given this is an isolated bugfix, and the package as currently in
16.04 does not work, the risk of regression is low. It has also
already been tested via PPA by myself and the original reporter.
