Thanks for the debdiff.

For this to be acceptable as an SRU for trusty, you need to prepare a
debdiff for the development release (zesty) first.

Also, please add the bug number to the changelog, and properly tag the
patch using these guidelines:

Bug description:
  This was upstream bug (https://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/4753) that
  recently has been fixed.

  I propose to add the patch to the offician ubuntu package so that
  users can get this fix before the new release, since the bug is quite
  irritating.
