Do you mind if I update this by downloading the source package and
running ./update instead (taking your debian/control and update.cfg
changes from the branch)

It means that it's current wrt. the seeds. I don't know of any other
flavour which maintains its metapackage in revision control.

Bug description:
  The ubuntu-mate-meta package requires an update for 15.04 Beta 2. The
  package is available in the following repository.

    * lp:~ubuntu-mate-dev/ubuntu-mate/ubuntu-mate-meta

  This update brings the meta package back in step with the seeds,
  improves language support and removes some unnecessary packages.
