Bug description:
  Upstream is 3.12.4, Debian is 3.12.4-1, Ubuntu is 3.8.6-0ubuntu12

  empathy 3.12 brings in many bug fixes over 3.8.6 that is currently in
  utopic, this update was somehow overlooked earlier however it does not
  use GtkHeaderBars and CSD's so from a UI perspective would be fine for
  ubuntu-desktop.

  We have had this release on the gnome3 ppa's for the best part of a
  cycle and there are no major issues with it. In the last few days a
  few of the -desktop team have played around with it also and not found
  any critical issues.
