I have updated the package to 1.0.28 and all seems to be working.
In my PPA (ppa:veger/ppa) is a build version of the package after this update.

Bug description:
  The pydot version in python-pydot is unchanged between lucid and
  oneiric at 1.0.2. Pydot has however moved on to 1.0.28. That's mostly
  bugfixes, apparently.
