Have tested my changes in clean installs of Raring and Saucy in VMs. In
both cases the apt version of Guake rendered in the wrong position on
screen (as described in the bug), and the version in my PPA rendered in
the correct place.

Status in “guake” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  [Impact]
  * This affects the majority of users of Guake on Raring and Saucy; those using Unity/Gnome with default configs.
  * The bug is a UI problem which renders the dropdown terminal away from the top edge of the screen, rather than sticking to the top. It renders the height of the indicator area bar below the top.

  [Test Case]
  * Install Guake on Raring or Saucy. Launch Guake. Open dropdown terminal with F12. Window should appear from the very top of the screen; instead it leaves a small gap above it.

  [Regression Potential]
  * Could potentially render dropdown terminal in the wrong place for some users; maybe those who use non-default desktop environments.

  After last updates on ubuntu 13.04, after reboot, guake started with abnormal indentation. So, it works, but unpleasant to look at the desktop. I think lastest gtk updates caused this bug
