Thanks for working on this.  That diff seems way too big though.  If you
don't want Debian patches applied, just comment them out in
debian/patches/series after you run quilt pop -a. Then run quilt push -a
to reapply the ones that are left.  It also looks like autoreconf was
run as well.  You might want to try building the source in a clean
directory.

  LightDM GTK+ Greeter has a new version, 1.6.0.  Please merge it into
  saucy.

  lightdm-gtk-greeter (1.6.0-1) unstable; urgency=low

    * New upstream release.
    * debian/control:
      - update standards version to 3.9.4.
      - add build-dep on autotools-dev.
    * debian/patches:
      - 04_default-gtk-greeter-config refresh for new upstream.
    * debian/rules:
      - use autotools-dev addon to rebuild config.{guess,sub} since they are
        older than apr 2012.
