Can you please comment on the source changes?

Excluding the autogenerated configury the debdiff is still big:
 35 files changed, 2321 insertions(+), 513 deletions(-)

It does not look like pure bugfixes, there are no open launchpad bug.
I'd be inclined to ask you to file a FFe [1] to justify updating this
core package this late in the cycle.
