Hi

  A premium Customer is looking for a fix for this issue on precise and
quantal ( both use nautlius 3.4.x) . I have attached the required patch
to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/287476, a
back port form upstream and tested it. Works fine for me.

  There is minimal probability of regression , and the patch is a part
of upstream.

  3. How reproducible is the problem?

  100%

  4. Steps to Reproduce:   
   
  * Mount SFTP share (or samba share)
  * Click and drag the file to the desktop
  * Hold alt, then drop the file on the desktop
  * Choose "Link Here" from the menu
  * Enjoy the broken links!

  a. Actual Results:

  For ssh links:

  lrwxrwxrwx 1 eric domain^users 15 2012-10-18 16:02 Link to bamf ->
  /home/eric/bamf

  (expected /home/eric/.gvfs/sftp for eric on
  10.153.108.202/home/eric/bamf or otherwise working link)

  For Samba/Windows mounts:

  lrwxrwxrwx 1 eric domain^users 23 2012-10-18 16:01 Documents and
  Settings -> /Documents and Settings

  (expected /home/eric/.gvfs/c$ on ubundows.ubuntudomain.int/Documents
  and Settings or otherwise working link)

   b. Expected Results:

  Working link created.

  5. Known Workaround:

  Either do it from the command-line or use Thunar, which works.

  6. Business Impact and customer deadlines:

  This is PSE customer Dutch Ministry of Defense.  They are currently
  unhappy with service, so this should be handled promptly.
