gnome-settings-daemon segfaults in smartcard-plugin when using smartcard authentication
login takes ~ 30 seconds to go from PIN to desktop when using smartcard authentication

3. How reproducible is the problem?
100%
4. Steps to Reproduce:
4.1. Setup smartcard authentication.
4.2. Login to Ubuntu desktop using default settings
a. Actual Results:
Login takes a long time. Research reveals that the gnome-settings-
daemon segfaults
b. Expected Results:
Login should proceed in a timely fashion. gnome-settings-daemon should
start normally.
5. Known Workaround:
Disabling the gnome-settings-daemon smartcard plugin works around this
issue.
