Thanks.  Would you mind filling us in on why the Ubuntu delta can be
dropped, though, rather than just quoting the delta?  I looked at the
changes in Debian and I'm having trouble finding this.

I can see why the TARGET_PLATFORM_ROOT change no longer matters, because
the relevant bit of make/build-newt.xml is for ARMv6 rather than ARMv7
now so we shouldn't run into it (although it seems to me that you could
save some future trouble by making that change systematically across the
whole build system).

I can't find any change corresponding to the source/target changes for
OpenJDK 6 compatibility.  Wouldn't we need to retain this change in
Ubuntu?  The requirement is not, as far as I know, obsolete.
