There is a lot of bugs for you in Debian BTS: http://bugs.debian.org
/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?include=severity%3Aimportant;package=kino.
I agree that we shouldn't remove it here if it's fixable, but I also do
agree that the package is broken.

Title:
Request for kino package to be removed from ubuntu mirrors
Status in “kino” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I was directed to the wiki page about removing packages
(https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuDevelopment/PackageArchive#Removing_Packages)
- but I'm not a dev, so ScottK (#kubuntu-devel @ freenode) suggested I
file this as a bug.
I would like to ask if Kino could possibly be removed from ubuntu
mirrors prior to the release of 13.04, please.
The problem with Kino at the present time is that it is broken, plain
and simple.
The UI plays video out two to three times faster than it should, there
are issues with crashes, audio not functioning, etc. The issue arises
however, when you read Kino's bugtracker on sourceforge.net, and find
out that the project is inactive, and Kino itself has been totally
unmaintained by its developers since mid-2010.
I don't think it serves us any good sending out a busted package,
which will remain so.
Thank you.
