** Description changed:

+ ### SRU Justification ###
+
+ [Impact]
+ The package is uninstallable in precise release.
+ [Development Fix]
+ This has been fixed in 2012.1~e4~20120126.11502-0ubuntu2 in quantal
+ [Stable Fix]
+ Minimal patch available below: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/melange/+bug/995187/+attachment/3147526/+files/fix-for-995187.diff
+ [Test Case]
+ Try to install from precise, and receive the below error message.
+ Install new version from precise-proposed, and it works as expected.
+ [Regression Potential]
+ Very little considering that the package is uninstallable as is.
+ ######
+
Following is the result of running apt-get install melange on an Ubuntu
  Precise machine:

  Unpacking melange (from .../melange_2012.1~e4~20120126.11502-0ubuntu1_all.deb) ...
  Setting up melange (2012.1~e4~20120126.11502-0ubuntu1) ...
Warning: The home dir /var/lib/melnage you specified can't be accessed: No such file or directory
  Adding system user `melange' (UID 104) ...
Adding new user `melange' (UID 104) with group `melnage' ...
  Not creating home directory `/var/lib/melnage'.
  chown: invalid group: `melange:melange'
  dpkg: error processing melange (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
  Errors were encountered while processing:
   melange
  E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

It seems like there is a typo in the group "melnage".
