Hi dholbach,

The thing gtest has quite an exotic way of distributing hist library. It
provides only libgtest-dev. There's no libgtest counterpart. So *no
library* (shared or static) is delivered at all. libgtest-dev delivers
all the source code and users of gtest *must* compile that code into
their programs to use it.

** Changed in: gtest (Ubuntu)

Title:
  Package description is incorrect

Status in “gtest” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
Short decription says "Google's framework for writing C++ tests -
header files". It should be something like "Google's framework for
writing C++ tests - source code"

Long description says "This package contains the header files needed
to link programs against gtest.", where it should be saying something
like "This package contains the source code needed for programs to
  build and use gtest." instead.
