Would this same fix also work for
https://bugs.launchpad.net/xfce4-volumed/+bug/883485 ? Note that the
status of the latter is "Won't fix" (even though it affects 35 people)

Bug description:
  This is a dead-ringer to
  https://bugs.launchpad.net/xfce4-volumed/+bug/883485, but this time
  for Ubuntu Studio.

  I have prepared a debdiff for the fix, tested it builds in precise
  pbuilder, and that the .deb installs.

  However, upon closer inspection, the fix in the form of a patch isn't
  effective, neither in Xubuntu (as original) nor in Studio (with tweaks
  to correct session). Will work on the issue, but keeping in mind the
  tight release schedule, no promises can be made.
