We have stuff in our packaging that's specific to Ubuntu.  Specifically, building modules with DKMS works in our packaging, but not in Debian (I've tipped Daniel off about it).

There are a couple more things (like the numbering, I rather keep our numbering scheme, and not add the stable numbering (aka "2:8.8.0+" part)).  And some other small things.  Until they get modules building working again with DKMS, a full sync is NOT recommended.

When they do get it working, I can sync, and compare the Debian folders/directories.  I've synced packaging up to the 1st revision of 2012.05.21 (the 2nd revision was added 2 days after this proposal was submitted).

I'll make a proposal after I test out the 2nd revision on a VM (I don't want to supersede my current (working) packaging/config on my PPA).  I want to double check everything works, as well as the adjusted glib patch (which I got from my upstream bug report a couple of days ago.).
