Thank you for trying to get updated software into Ubuntu.  We're syncing
from testing by default for the LTS.  Since this package has reverse
dependencies, it would be nice to wait for this to get to migrate to
testing before syncing or at least wait 10 days without an RC bug being
found.  Also, this package won't build without the new hdf5 (1.8.8-5)
from Debian unstable which we will not sync until the hdf5 transition is
almost complete.  Please resubscribe ubuntu-sponsors once hdf5
(>=1.8.8-5) and pytables are in Debian testing.

  PyTables in ubuntu (and debian) has been outdated for quite some time.
  The upstream version has lots of new features.

  pytables (2.3.1-2) unstable; urgency=low

    * Avoid unnecessary cythonization during clean
    * Ensure that build fails in case of test failure
    * Explicitly set PYTHONPATH before running tests
    * Call dh_numpy to generate proper dependency on numpy
