  Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:
  This doesn’t drop the Ubuntu delta, in fact.  The new Debian package
  was developed starting with 2.8-0ubuntu1 (and 2.8-0ubuntu2 was a
  no-change rebuild).
